Luscious Lemon Pound Cake Candle Review

11 / 29 / 126 / 1 / 15

This candle, oh this candle….

Words just can’t describe it’s yumminess.

I barely had it lit and I could literally smell it everywhere.

A hand poured 6oz soy candle made with essential oils, in the delectable scent of Lemon Pound Cake…A sweet vanilla-y buttery cake loaded with sweet sugary lemons and delicious icing.
I’m making you hungry now aren’t I?

The Milk and Cookie Candle Company really pride themselves on their amazing candles and using the best materials and the most Eco-friendly ones too. The soy wax used in these insanely good candles is non-carcinogenic, non-toxic, is cleaner burning and longer lasting; just to name a few of its so many great qualities, plus all their holders are reusable too.

Awesome, just awesome.

The Milk & Cookie Candle Company Melting Cubes Review

11 / 13 / 126 / 1 / 15

The Milk & Cookie Candle Company make some seriously yummy candles and are dedicated to being Eco-friendly.

Their candles are highly scented; they hand blend their fragrances and use the maximum amount of premium essential and fragrance oils possible in candle making.
They are creatively inspired by and love making super scrumptious flavors like Caramel Apple, Key Lime Pie, Cotton Candy and even Maple Bacon!

The Milk & Cookie Candle Company were so lovely to send us a bunch of treats to review…

First up lots of delicious, so surprised I haven’t eaten them, eco soy wax melting cubes.

Pumpkin Latte Wax MeltsPumpkin Latte – If you’re loving your Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks then you’ll love love LOVE this one. When you first smell it you get a sort of pumpkin pie scent but then the coffee hits you! It’s yum.

Donut Shop Wax MeltsDonut Shop – Smells exactly like it’s name, and even has sprinkles on top! Makes me want to go out and buy ALL the donuts, like everywhere.

Trick or Treat Wax MeltsTrick or Treat – This is a combination of tart apples, caramel apple and candy corn. Designed for Fall/Halloween but I’d have it going all year long. It’s sweet but you can really get a hit of the fresh apple scent.

Fresh Baked Bread Wax MeltsFresh Baked Bread – You HAVE to get this one, it’s insane! Smells like crusty white bread straight out of the oven. It’s not sweet which I love. Will most definitely be buying this scent again when my tarts run out.

Maple Bacon Wax MeltsMaple Bacon – Don’t be scared, it’s really good!
For years I’ve always said someone should make maple bacon perfume or candles, it’s one of my most favourite smells ever, and maple bacon is the top reason why I’m like a half ass vegetarian. So I was over the moon when the Milk & Cookie Candle Company sent me Maple Bacon wax melts, I thought I was dreaming. 🙂
Instead of it smelling pork-y (lol) it’s like a maple syrup smokey woody sort of scent, it’s really awesome, I’m amazed.

Over all I’m so impressed with the Milk and Cookie Candle Company; Trisha (the real brains behind the whole thing) is such a sweetheart and a pleasure to work with.

I love that they’re Eco friendly, even using recycled paper and packaging when sending out their products.
The melts give of such a long lasting scent and the packaging is just too cute, with the funky labels and the pretty hand tied bows, and how can you not love anything with sprinkles!

With a lot of unique scents (and lots of new ones for Christmas) I can’t wait to try more wonderful creations from the Milk and Cookie Candle Company.

Coley & Gill Vanilla Scented Candle Review

9 / 13 / 121 / 28 / 16

UPDATE 22/10/2015 – You’ve probably found this page after searching for something relating to Coley & Gill.

We’ve been contacted too many times regarding this brand after writing one review. No, we are not Coley & Gill, I swear! We are two ladies who once purchased a candle and wrote a review about it.  If you have any problems with your Coley & Gill products we’d advise that you bring them back to the store where you purchased them. Please, PLEASE do not send us threatening emails and/or pictures of your phlegm/mucus or any other bodily fluids. (Yes, this happened!) We’re too sweet and innocent to deal with stuff like that lol. Remember, you get what you pay for. – S&S

Another of my candles from my Poundland visit and this one because it’s Vanilla was Coley & Gill Vanilla Scented Candlethe one I was most excited about. I shouldn’t have been…

When I picked it up I couldn’t really smell the vanilla which in many circumstances would have made me put it down but it was only one pound. When I was lighting the candle I did notice that the design of the candle made a pretty pattern that made me say oooh! But the smell was where exactly?! Also the wick kept disintegrating and I ended up with speckled wax. Coley & Gill Vanilla Scented CandlesUrgh. I have a teeny tiny spoon that I use to scoop it out, I don’t have OCD but that makes me get very OCD.

When I got about 3/4 down the candle it started to smell but it wasn’t vanilla, it was a burning smell. I know how to burn a candle, trim a wick etc and as soon as it started smelling like a bonfire it was in the bin! Obviously I blew out the flame and let it cool first.

It was just £1 so I don’t feel too annoyed but I did a bit of digging and found out that they do quite a few scents and started to think why bother, seems like a company that needs to perfect it’s candle quality first before going into lots of scents. Particularly as they don’t smell! Even for £1 I’m disappointed not by the price but by how much I love candles and when I get one that’s not so good, it makes me have a sad face.

Oh and want to eat cake.

Skittles Candles Review

9 / 10 / 122 / 14 / 15

I just love random awesome finds, don’t you? While I was out doing some shopping for groceries and stuff, I found Skittles candles!

Skittles-CandlesI love Skittles, but haven’t had any in a long time because of diet and fear of the evil dentist, so I was very happy to find two of my favourite things combined into one. Read More

Walsh & Baker Chocolate Fudge Cake Candle Review

9 / 4 / 122 / 14 / 15

Another review of the candles from my recent Poundland trip and these are pure lush! Walsh & Baker Chocolate Fudge Cake CandleLove these. Two candles for a £1 so yep folks that’s one candle for 50p and these are chocolate fudge ones. Nom nom nom!

These pots smell like chocolate fudge cake gooeyness. You know the cakes that make you put on about 10lbs by just looking at them well this smell is all that in a candle and YOU CANNOT EAT IT! Possibly the most frustrating candle I’ve had in a long time, I did treat myself to an Walsh & Baker Chocolate Fudge Cake Candlesapple pie instead. It sort of helped with my craving for rich chocolate cake. Sort of.

They are cute little pots and like the M&M candles review that I did, you can reuse the little pots for other candles. See these just get better and better.

The main issue with these is you’ll be hungry until about an hour after you’ve blown out the wick. The smell is so intense and it lingers. There are other scents in this collection but I’ll need to get some low calorie snacks in!
