Filthy Velvet Me So Thorny Candle Review

We’ve been working with and LOVING Filthy Velvet since 2015, they’re a provocative and witty brand, created by Karen & Jeremy who wanted to have an offbeat brand that was feminine and masculine, sexy and modest, fun and serious, just like their personalities.

Their Vanilla, Peach & Lavender Filthy Bits Wax Melts are one of my favourite products for when I need some relaxation. You’ll know this by now, there are two scents that I generally just do not like, lavender and rose, so I was really surprised at how much I liked the Vanilla, Peach & Lavender aroma. Filthy Velvet really are masters at mixing fragrances, they make all those very different scents blend together flawlessly, so when I received their Me So Thorny rose scented candle to review, I wasn’t too nervous because I knew there’d be other elements and layers to it.

I was sent a “Scandle” a good while back to review (you can read that HERE) and liked it so much I bought another candle and some of their “Filthy Bits” wax melts. Which reminds me, I need to stock up on Vanilla, Peach & Lavender Filthy Bits soon, it’s the perfect bedroom scent.

Anyway, I’ve used up all my melts and then completely forget about the candle until recently, so I lit it up.

Filthy Velvet Mini Haul

A while back I was sent a Busty Blonde scented candle from Filthy Velvet to review (you can read the review HERE) and I just adored it and generally when we love products we usually always go on to buy from the brand, cause we can never have too many wax goodies!
We do try to warn people…“Hey if your products are good you may never get rid of us!” But we still get sent fabulous products to review and so the addiction gets worse. 😉

Busty Blonde Candle by Filthy Velvet Review

Karen  & Jeremy are the brains behind Filthy Velvet, a provocative and witty brand. They wanted to create an offbeat brand which reflected their two quirky personalities. Feminine and masculine, sexy and modest, fun and serious.

This unconventional online shop displays the first of Karen & Jeremy’s rebellious creativity – a range of bad ass scented candles aptly named “Scented Scandles” which are not only sinfully delicious but each scent is personalised with its very own cheeky name.

I was sent “Busty Blonde” to review, it’s a coconut and vanilla musk scented candle.
I loved the quote with this candle…“Well behaved women rarely make history!” How true is that? 😉

When I first smelled the candle I could most definitely smell the musk but as it burned the coconut and vanilla elements really came through. It’s a very sweet, spicy and seductive scent. If Busty Blonde came in a perfume, I’d bathe in it.

Busty Blonde Candle by Filthy Velvet

Busty Blonde is a subtle scented candle but it has a great throw, I think if it was any stronger it’d be too overpowering. When it comes to candles, especially sexy scented ones you don’t want one that distracting, you want it to compliment the romantic atmosphere.

The scented scandles are made using only the finest fragrance oils, high quality natural wax (oh it’s so creamy and soft!) and cotton wicks and each candle is hand poured. Handmade candles are always the best in the my opinion, you can always see how much time, thought and effort goes into them and they always burn so well.

I really loved my scented scandle and even himself commented on it, which is always a good sign. I have this big giant birthday candle wish list and I’ve added Muffin Top, Posh Tart and a couple more of Filthy Velvet’s candles to it, seriously they’ve too many great scents to choose from.
