Dr. Botanicals: Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil (Review)

I was invited to review this as part of the Dr. Botanicals reviewer club, I was given a discounted price but my reviews are completely honest.

Here’s all the blurb:

“This Moroccan Rose infused Facial oil is packed full of minerals and vitamins, all working together to rejuvenate, renew and protect skin. Rich in antioxidants and moisturising properties to keep your skin protected and hydrated when it needs it most.

We believe oils and plant extracts can make a genuine difference to skin. Never tested on animals, this range embodies our belief in the potent power of botanicals.

The main active ingredients in the formulation are:

1) Vitamin C helps to stimulate collagen production, for younger-looking skin.
2) Vitamin A is a powerful antioxidant with aims to rejuvenate skin, even skin tone and reduce the signs of ageing; while protecting from free radicals.
3) Almond Oil deeply moisturises and nourishes skin, whilst brightening the complexion for brighter fresh looking skin

I have definitely got so used to using facial oils after years of avoiding, I truly believed they would make my skin too oily. Definitely wrong. When I used this Moroccan Rose Superfood Facial Oil for the first time I genuinely had to check the bottle again because it really does not feel like an oil. It feels more like a water, there’s definitely no oiliness which would be obvious on the hands straight away. It’s extremely lightweight.

It doesn’t take long at all for the skin to absorb the oil and whilst I prefer to let any oils sink in before doing anything else to my skin, there really wouldn’t be a problem to apply your make up over it.

I’m not a great fan of Rose scents, I love it mixed with other scents but as a rule I find rose on its own can be overpowering. This is really quite sweet and I only really noticed the smell because naturally when you review you sniff haha! But otherwise I only noticed it when I was applying it, it’s not unpleasant at all and I definitely couldn’t smell it on my skin.

I really love that you don’t need a lot of this, I’ve been using two drops as I like to make sure I’m getting it on my neck too. I’ve noticed an improvement with my acne scars, nothing too noticeable to anyone else but as someone who knows how bad they’ve been and also how red they can go when I’ve really exfoliated my skin – they have improved. I’ve been using this now for about 4 weeks, both night and day and I’m intrigued to see how my skin improves in the next 4 weeks and beyond.

I had a limited edition bottle which was only the design of the bottle being different.
