Sarah’s January Favourites

So after another January lasting about 900 days… I’m here to tell you about my favourite products that I’ve looked loved in the past month.

Wet Brush Bombshell Blue Hair Brush

I’ve started to go swimming and a wet brush is a necessity whenever I have got my hair wet but especially after swimming. If anyone has any recommendations for good shampoos and conditioners for swim hair then please put them in the comments below, thank you!

Sam and I both had the M&S advent calendar and she raved about this and so I got round to trying it and couldn’t believe how good it is. It’s a primer, moisturiser and mask all in one which is a great product and ideal for travelling. I realised I had another of these unopened in my stash too, so I regret not trying it sooner. It really does make my face smoother and applying make up is much easier too.

Stella by Stella McCartney Fragrance

I’ve had this perfume in my collection for years which will come as a surprise as I don’t like rose scents normally. But the intense amber base really does make it one of my favourites. I also really love the bottle colour and design.

L’Oréal Infallible 24 Hour Matte Foundation

The first time I used this I did think that I had bought the wrong colour as it went on very pale, I had the shade vanilla so it could have been likely. But about 20 minutes later it had properly settled and it was a perfect match. I’ve never known this before with a foundation and wondered if it was the matte effect. But it lasted a full day on my first use and I was out in the cold with it on and it didn’t budge at all. Really happy with it.

Aldi Lacura Charcoal Clearing Mud Mask

Aldi launched their charcoal beauty range early 2018 and then brought it back later in the year. I’d bought the mask early in the year and I’ll admit I forgot to try it… doh! Then when I saw they were bringing it back, I thought it was about time that I tried it. I tried it and loved it. Could see my pores come up in the mask and yes ewww. But using this once or twice a week has stopped my breakouts. So I made sure I was all stocked up. Recently I’ve been just using it around my chin as that’s my worst area for breakouts.

Eylure Lashes

In the past year I’ve got more used to applying false lashes and I’ve found Eylure to be the best ones for me. I don’t need to trim them and I can now get my lashes on pretty quick. As these ones are reusable I like to soak them overnight in a cleansing lotion and then in the morning any excess glue comes off easier. I have found that they can be easier to apply after the first time, I guess because they have shaped to my eyes.

Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara

Another M&S calendar product, another that I love. I’ve had one of their mascaras before and I liked that one a lot but this one really makes my lashes long! I know I’ve said about the false lashes but that’s not an every day look for me, this mascara could be.

Nip + Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask

This tingles a lot! Not because it gave me a reaction but it really penetrates into your skin. I’m not sure people with sensitive skin would get on with this but for me using this once a week really helped to keep my pores smaller.

Rodial Dragon’s Blood Sculpting Gel

I will never purchase this at full price (£85!) but I’ve enjoyed using my little 15ml tester pot of this. I am going to check out their sister brand, Nip + Fab for their Dragon’s Blood range. I love that this one is a gel as it is very cooling on my skin. My 15ml tube has lasted longer than I thought, you don’t need to use too much when you apply it.

That’s it. My favourites from January. Send us a comment with a link to your favourites and we will check them out.
