I actually first heard about this brand through Mikhila.com a few years ago, I had put them on my list to investigate someday and then by chance recently they got in touch with us – straight away I knew who they were!
Cassandra and Jonathan Hall are the founders of La Montaña. Born and bred Londoners, Cass and Jonathan actually met in Spain in 1980, and moved in 2011 to a remote Valencian village, where they live with their two dogs Dudley and Dixie. You can read more about their story and the rest of the team HERE.
I love the labels on their candles – each candle has its own unique and collectable label in the style of a 1930’s travel poster. I think it was the packaging that has made me remember this brand for so long. They state that their candles have a burn time of around 40 hours which is very impressive. They use refined paraffin wax in their candles with a high percentage of natural and essential oils. The candles are hand poured in London and there is free P&P for the UK.
They also have fragrance scent cards to help you to pick your scents. As they sell online it can be difficult for customers to choose based on scent descriptions so this is a great way to pick your favourite scent. I have been sent some candles to review and a set of the fragrance cards and they do really match up. It’s such a great idea! You can purchase their candles HERE.
I was sent the Alfredo’s Cafe candle as I love my mandle type scents. Also Winter Oranges which is perfect for this time of year and I do love orange scents. Reviews to follow soon for these.
La Montaña are kindly sending our readers one of their scented fragrance cards so you can check out their scents. Email email@example.com with your name and address and they will send these out to you. UK only addresses.
