So what scents were in this month’s box?
Sarah – More booze! Yesssss. I’ve spoken before about the dangers with Lemon & Lime scents being like cleaning products? But there’s something super zingy about adding the mojito vibe into this that it smells more like a sherbet lemon with booze. Quite honestly, I think that should be made into a drink.
Sam – This is such a fresh, zesty, uplifting aroma, perfect to perk you up when you needs to get stuff done! I can’t really detect the floral note in it, not that I’m complaining but I think the mandarin and grapefruit give it some extra tartness.
Raspberry & Salted Caramel – Sweet and creamy, Raspberry & Salted Caramel is a delicious treat for the senses. Fruity notes of raspberry blend with anise, buttercream and vanilla-based caramel.
Sam – This is one of my all time fave scents ever and even though I already have a stash of it, I’m always happy to get more. It’s two of the greatest scents ever combined…GENIUS! If you love fruity or dessert type scents then you will go crazy for this one.
Sarah – One of our faves and one that I really feel shows a real decadent side to wax melts. Raspberry is such a strong and fun scent and the salted caramel really makes us drool. I love them both together, it’s always been a very fun scent.
Plum Blossom – A fruity floral scent with top notes of sweet damask plum, orange, blackcurrant and green apple followed by a floral heart of jasmine, lily and violet with hints of musk and vanilla.
Sarah – I really wanted to like this one as I love plummy scents but it was a little too much on the floral side for me. If you love your more autumn florals though, this is perfect for you.
Sam – To me this is mostly a floral scent, but I think the plum adds a really rich sweetness to it and the vanilla sort of tones the headiness of those strong floral notes. Plum Blossom wouldn’t be my favourite in this box but I do like it, it’s really feminine and luxurious.
Gooseberry & Elderflower
Sam – This is definitely my favourite scent in the box, I love really tart scents, like Bunny Kisses, but this takes tartness to a whole other level! It’s a really sharp, tangy fragrance, I have a feeling this could lead to a gooseberry phase.
Sarah – I’m not the biggest gooseberry fan, although I do have two gooseberry bushes in the garden. This was SO strong and SO sour strong too that for some reason I LOVED it. I couldn’t really smell any of the elderflower but I think it probably calmed the gooseberry down a little… (wink)
Pink Prosecco
Sarah – I’m a real lover of boozy scents. I’ve had a few Prosecco style scents from various sellers and lovely the bubbly alcoholic scent, immediately uplifting. This Pink Prosecco is full on booze and I absolutely LOVE it. It’s almost a little too heavy but it just holds back a little bit from being overpowering. It’s gorgeous and I want more!
Sam – I don’t like wine or champagne but have recently developed a bit of a taste for prosecco, but I can’t have it too much cause I get tipsy after one glass. 😛 Anyway, I was super excited to see this scent in my box, I thought it would curb my prosecco craving. It’s really fruity and feminine and you can almost smell the fizziness in it, I really like it.
Blackcurrant Jam – Sweet and fruity, Blackcurrant Jam is a mouthwatering accord with top notes of blackcurrant preserve and a touch of soft vanilla.
Sam -We’ve had this scent before and it’s always a winner! The best way I can thing to describe this super strong scent is, have you ever accidentally poured too much concentrated Ribena in your water? Then you taste it and it’s like HOLY BLACKCURRANT BATMAN! Well this is like that, but in your nose. 😛 Really syrupy and sweet.
Sarah – One of my autumn favourites, and it was fun to have it a little earlier. Always reminds me of making my own jams, which I need to start doing! This was one of the first Flamingo Candle scents that I ever had and it always reminds me of that moment, discovering the brand and being intrigued. Now look at all the scents that they have! The scent is really fun, really fruity and really jammy. Yum.
Sarah – I’ve had this before and liked it but it seemed different now or maybe my nose liked it more? I dunno, but it seemed more appley and reminded me of picking fresh apples from a grocery store. Also with blackcurrant jam it was making me think about baking an apple crumble.
Sam – I love apple scents, y’all know this by now, this particular one is in a league of it’s own, it’s so unique. It smells like a basket of freshly picked granny smith apples, stems, leaves and all. The lemon and mandarin really come out when it’s melting and add to the brightness and the tartness of this scent.
Candy Shop
Sam – This is so sugary and sweet, I love it! It’s like jelly beans, marshmallows, bubblegum and cotton candy all mixed together, it’ll definitely have you buzzing!
Sarah – Oooh sweeties. This really packs a punch, even on a cold smell this was strong. Once lit in my burner it was a gorgeous scent of candy and when my tealight had gone out, the scent lingered for ages. Even the next day when I walked past, I could still get the scent. It’s definitely a fun and zingy scent and I’m happy this arrived during the school holidays so my daughter got to try some of these out too. She really liked this one for sure and said it smelt like she had bought all the sweets in the world and taken a great big sniff. That’s 5 year olds for you – she’s right though!
