The individual fragrances are a surprise – they include a combination of old favourites, current scents, new yet-to-be-launched scents and scents exclusive to The Melt Crowd. You’ll also get a 20% discount code too with every box.

We absolutely loved the Hello Spring box with its cheerful yellow tissue paper and the pretty floral design on the labels too. Immediately it made it feel like Spring had arrived.

So what scents were in the March box?

Rose Velvet & Precious Oud

Sam – Y’all know by now that I’m not a fan of roses but I do love anything oud, this scent to me isn’t verly rosey at all, I LOVE it! It’s ever so sexy.
I heard that this was a dupe of a Jo Malone scent, which I’ve never smelled, probably because it had rose in the name. I feel like I’ve missed out on so much. 🙁
This scent, while it does have a slight floral note to it, it’s definitely a more spicy aroma. It has a sweet, nuttiness to it as well. I’m really, REALLY liking it and may have to pay a visit to Jo Malone soon. I hope Flamingo bring this out in candle form, we’re just obsessed with it.

Sarah – We’ve already asked (told!) Flamingo Candles that we need more of this. Sam and I are so similar with our rose scents, we normally avoid them as much as possible! This one is SO different and we have had extensive chats about how we maybe need to be a little more adventurous with sniffing rose mixed scents.

I’ll be so bold as to say it’ll be on both of our favourites list from 2017… I’m THAT confident.

Violet & Lime

Sarah – I’ve always been unsure about this scent mix and I’m still the same. I think it’s because I’ve never really liked the Parma Violet craze… probably shouldn’t admit that.

Sam – This scent reminds me of parma violets but with masculine elements in it; sorta like parma violets for grown-ups. I don’t know if I’m the biggest fan of Violet & Lime but I had an idea of mixing it with another scent like Flamingo’s Strawberry Millions, cause then your home would smell like a sweet shop.

Pink Lemonade

Sam – Pink lemonade is one of those scents that I always enjoy. I really think lemon and berries are a scent combination that you can’t mess up; if there’s anyone that take an average scent and make it a million times better, it’s Flamingo Candles.
This scent has the perfect balance of citrus and fruity notes but there are some other notes in it that make it super unique.

Sarah – A definite permanent favourite of ours. I’ve definitely found myself embracing the ‘pinker’ side of life recently and this was a great colour to add to my wax melter. Always makes me think about the summer!

Creme Brulee

Sarah – Immediately seeing this I started to feel hungry and saved this for a day when I wasn’t having a particularly healthy food day. I can’t be the first person to blame a bad food day on scented wax can I? 😉

Sam – This scent is so delectable, it smells like rich, creamy vanilla custard with lashings of sweet, sugary caramel on it. *Drools*

Peaches & Cream

Sam – Back in maybe the 90s or the early 00s there were these sweets called Campino and they had a bunch of flavours, one of which was peaches and cream. I ate them all the time. I always had a stash in my pencil case at school. This scent brings back so many memories for me. It smells like sugary, sweet, creamy, peachy, delicious candies.
Peaches & Cream is going on my list of requested scents to have forever that I’ll send to Flamingo Candles. 😉

Sarah – I knew on a cold sniff that we would both like this one. I loved how strong of a throw this one had and it was something so different to what I’ve been choosing to melt through other collections, it was really lovely.

Tangerine Mojito

Sarah – I’ve mentioned a lot recently that boozy type scents seem to make me more productive. I had a big clear out this week of clothes… So I could go out and buy more ha ha. I’m definitely one of those people who hits a slump in the middle where I need a little kick of inspiration. This scent really helped, I love any orange scents so always a winner. It didn’t last as long as other scents though, which was disappointing.

Sam – This is so zingy in my nose! I don’t quite know what to make of it.  I’m assuming cause it’s a mojito scent that there’s mint in it and I think that’s what’s kind of throwing me a bit. I do love the orangeness in it, that perked me right up.

Daffodil

Sam – I really like daffodils, they’re such bright, happy flowers, unfortunately, I don’t like this daffodil scent, it’s just too floral for me.  I think I’ll send mine to Sarah’s aunt, she’s mad for floral aromas.

Sarah – I absolutely LOVE Spring and all the daffodils, snowdrops and crocus bulbs that start to pop up amongst the brambles and muddy grass. I love having daffodils in the house and I find yellow is a colour I need to have more of in the house as it makes me feel happy. I thought the scent would be a good replacement for the scent of daffodils but as someone who doesn’t go too mad on florals, it was a step too far for me. This would be a great scent for those who love their floral scents as there is a great throw payoff, it would be great for those with open plan settings.

Orange Pekoe Tea

Sarah – Another one that I’ve loved before and it was great to see it again. I’ll admit I do normally send tea type scents to Sam as she loves them a little more than me but I’ll keep this one. 😉

Sam – I’ve mentioned before of my love of herbal tea and herbal scents and I really like orange so having those combined makes this a perfect scent for me. It’s a warm orange, citrus aroma with herbal elements and hints of spice, quite an earthy aroma.  It’s very comforting and soothing.
