2016 has been an amazing year for the two of us, we’re both lucky to be doing what we love and we look forward to all that 2017 has to offer.
We’ve been blessed to work with some wonderful brands and been ever so lucky to review so many great products; so we thought it would be fun if we each shared our Top Products of 2016 lists with you. It was ever so tough for us both to just pick ten products each, but here it goes…
Sam’s Top 10 (In no particular order…)
This Is Her! By Zadig & Voltaire – I first tried this perfume after I got a sample of it in a Feel Unique Pick N Mix, I had heard good things about it and wanted to try something a little different then the scents I normally go for. It’s the sexiest perfume I’ve ever smelled, it’s very woody, clean and kind of creamy, a little sweet and gourmand and it just lasts and lasts. I was able to get some more samples of it which I was rationing but then I was super lucky to get a big bottle of it for Christmas from my guy and the matching body cream, now I literally want to bathe myself in both of them. LOL.
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm – If you had’ve said to me last year that I’d be using a cleanser this year instead of my regular face washes, I’d probably have laughed. If you then told me that it would be an oily cleanser I’d have said you were insane. I tried this product after Sarah recommended it to me and I was able to get a sample of it, and after one use I was hooked. I use this daily now and my skin has never been better. I apply it and then take it off with either wet cotton pads or my Emma Hardie Cleansing Cloth. It doesn’t leave any residue and a little bit goes a long way, it’s great at taking off stubborn eye makeup. I like to use a gentle toner after this followed by moisturiser. It makes my skin feel like it’s been pampered all day in a spa.
L’Oreal Paris Nude Magique Cushion Foundation – I don’t generally like to feel like I’m wearing makeup, so I really love this foundation. It’s lightweight, easy to use and produces a very natural finish, but still covers up what you want covered up. I love that it evens out my skin tone and leaves my skin with a fresh, dewy, radiant finish.
Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse – I’m so addicted to this product, it’s a miracle oil! I use it on my face, body and hair, my skin feels amazing and my split ends are kindly starting to F off. It’s also great at getting rid of stretch marks, I had some in the bust region and they were completely gone after three weeks of using this! There is literally no end to its wonders.
My Dearly Loved’s Tigger’s Caffeinated Body Scrub – This product has changed my life, you can read my full review HERE. It’s made with the finest ingredients; Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Ground Coffee, Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, Almond Oil, Vitamin E Oil and Vanilla Extract. It smells incredible, the scent really perks you up, and holy moley it makes your skin feel like silk. Cannot recommend it enough.
Neal’s Yard Remedies Bee Lovely Hand Cream – I have the world’s most sensitive hands and this is the first hand cream in such a long time that I haven’t had a reaction to. I received a tube of it in my Mark & Spencer Advent Calendar and in a month I’ve already ploghed through a whole tube, it’s amazing, it’s like I have brand new hands. So happy! It smells like oranges too which is such an uplifting aroma.
Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm – This product, just OMG, it’s a game changer for sure! I’ve never been given so many compliments on my skin before.
I’ve been using this after my serum and moisturiser and it just makes my skin look radiant, brighter and fresher. It evens out my skin tone and reduces redness so I haven’t been needing to use foundation, which is always a good thing. It gives my skin this lovely pearly glow.
Bare Minerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer – I’ve tried Bare Minerals primers before and always loved them, your makeup won’t go anywhere with them and they make your skin look flawless, so when I was out of primer I thought I’d give the Bare Minerals Prime Time Brightening Foundation Primer a go and it takes those already amazing primers to a whole new level. This fluid, silky, liquid gold-like foundation primer has a thin texture that blends really well and leaves a soft glowing finish that brightens your complexion.
Primark PS Love Volume Boost Mascara – I like a mascara that has a no muss no fuss regular kind of brush on it, that doesn’t get clumpy and that I build layers upon layers with and this is the first mascara that I’ve ever found that is all those three things that I need. Plus it’s only like €2, if even that! No other mascara compares to this one for and I have tied A LOT of them.
TIGI Bed Head Urban Antidotes Resurrection Shampoo & Conditioner – I felt like my hair needed a boost so I treated myself to this duo, and after one wash I was hooked, my hair felt amazingly soft and frizz free, my curls looked extra luscious and my colours extra vibrant. I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner for a good few months now and my hair has never looked and felt so good and it’s grown a bit too. Plus, my crazy sensitive scalp hasn’t had any reaction to it which is AMAZING!
Sarah’s Top 10 (In no particular order…)
Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm – I absolutely fell in total love with this product this year – I totally understand the blogger hype about this now! It’s such a great product and has totally changed the way I look at skincare products and what I’ve been using.
Britney Spears Twist Fantasy – Sort of cheating but I got the Fantasy/Midnight Fantasy duo so technically it’s one product. I love both of these scents SO much, they both make me so happy and really calm down my anxious moments. They started both of us on our journey into celebrity perfumes that are a lot cheaper than other brand names.
Schwarzkopf LIVE Intense Colour Hair Dye – I’ve used a lot of the red colour variations of these and I’m really impressed. I’ll be trying the blue and purple in 2017. Yes, really!
Rimmel 60 Seconds Super Shine Nail Polish In Your Majesty – I do love a silver shiny nail polish and I really love the Rimmel polishes. This one is fab, really great shine and dries quick. I also have started getting the gel ones, which are also fabulous.
Emporio Armani Diamonds – I always used to think the Armani perfumes were really high on the expensive list of perfumes. How wrong was I? All of them have been on offer and I snapped up a few cheap box sets on a few sales before Christmas making this affordable and a gorgeous new scent for my perfume collection.
GROUNDED Coconut Coffee Body Scrub – I absolutely love this scrub, after wanting to try one of these for ages. When I did, I’ve not looked back and I wouldn’t use this every day but about twice a week. It’s really good to wake your skin up!
Maybelline Lash Sensational Waterproof Mascara – I’ve always struggled to find a good waterproof mascara that didn’t run down my face when I had hay-fever but would also give good coverage too. Finally I randomly picked this one as I was buying another Maybelline product and they had some buy one get one free offer on, so I thought I’d give this a whirl. It’s now become my all year round mascara, it gives good coverage and doesn’t leak down my face.
Boots Botanics All Bright Radiance Balm – Sam raved about this for ages to me and I soon grabbed it and picked two up as it was on offer. I’ve not worn a foundation since, instead I’ve used this. It’s a great way to add colour to your skin and really wakes up the area around the eyes. I’d recommend this product for those who want coverage but don’t want to be too clogged up.
NUXE Oil – This has such a posh alternative name (Nuxe Huile Prodigieuse) that I’m sure it’ll put some people off but this is a true wonder product. Sam recommended it to me and when I got to try it in our M&S advent calendars I was instantly obsessed. It’s been great for my acne scars on my face and definitely noticed my hair is less frizzy after using it. Another wonder product.
Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette – I fell in love with this palette as soon as I saw it. When I bought it, everyone I showed it off too made “ooh” noises. It’s been great to use, especially at this time of year when you want a bit more shine and glittery look for your eyes. It’s definitely a make up love!
