Pintail Candles is a family run business that was founded in 1993. They are located in Flookburgh, on the northern shores of Morecambe Bay, Cumbria.
Pintail Candles started out making decorative pillar candles, but soon progressed onto handmade fragranced tin candles, for which they have been among the market leaders for many years. They supply a wide range of shops, from small independents to own label products for large department stores, both within the UK and many countries around the world, one of which is Sarah Lou Ltd. A shop that was just made for us!
Sarah Lou kindly sent us a bunch of products to review (see previous reviews HERE) and one product I was sent was a Vanilla & White Ginger Pintail Candle.
I LOVE ginger scents and myself and Sarah have mentioned a few times that we’re getting kind of bored of just plain vanilla candles so we’re always on the lookout for wax goodies that are vanilla mixed with other fragrances; so I was super excited to try out this particular scent.
Vanilla & White Ginger is described as “the comforting fragrance of rich vanilla cream, combined with the warming aroma of stem ginger, resting on a base of sumptuous velvet caramel.”
I couldn’t really detect any caramel notes in this candle but wow the ginger really popped! It was as if the candle was jam packed with fresh, raw ginger. I’ve had many ginger scented products but this was by far the most realistic ginger scent I’ve ever had. The ginger mixed with the creamy vanilla elements made this candle really warming and comforting and it filled our living area with its wonderful aroma.
The candles are given an average burn time of about 14 hours; I burnt mine over two days and trimmed the wick a couple of times and I think I got a few more hours than that. They candle burned so cleanly and evenly too.
I love the simple packaging on the candles and I think they would make wonderful gifts. Sarah Lou stock so many of Pintail’s wonderful fragrances and at only £3.99 they’re such a bargain.
