The Melt Crowd from Flamingo Candles

I’ve been wanting to try MANY products from Flamingo Candles for a long time now but have resisted purely because I already have so many candles and wax  goodies to get through but when I saw that they were launching The Melt Crowd, which is a wax melt subscription box and that they have super cheap international shipping, I knew I had to sign up!

I had issues signing up for the first ever box in June, purely because dumbass here forgot to activate her new card in time but actually I think it was meant to be because when I saw what was in the June box online, I was happy I didn’t get it.
You get a free warmer with your first  month so you can properly enjoy your melts, which is a genius idea but I didn’t like the warmers in the June box and the scents were so not  me at all.
I saw then that they had new warmers for July which were super pretty so I thought I’d give it a go.

I was hoping there’d be some yummy food scents in the July box and I was hoping that I’d get a blue warmer and would you just look at what I got….

The Melt Crowd from Flamingo Candles

A blue warmer! 😀 Totally meant to be.

And the scents I got…

Oriental Lotus & Rose Otto Rich and sensual, Oriental Lotus & Rose Otto is a floral fragrance with powdery soft top notes of rose otto and warming nuances of sweet magnolia with elements of soft lily and carnation also present. Supported by a pillow soft base of rich, soothing sandalwood, orchid, musk and amber.

I’m very unsure about this scent, it’s extremely floral and although I generally hate floral scents, they have been growing on me recently but still, I just don’t  know… I’m terrified it’ll give me a whopper of a headache. 😕  I may save it and have it in our guest room for when friends come over.

Island Breeze – This is a Melt Crowd exclusive scent so there’s no exact description on line, but it reminds me of a men’s cologne or body spray, very cool and refreshing. I think the fruity elements to it will come out more when it’s melting, I will let you know.

Mojito Cocktail Fresh and zesty, Mojito opens with citrus top notes of lime, lemon and grapefruit, leading to a peppermint heart, resting on a musky background.

This scent is so crazy, it’s very bright and citrussy but you can really smell the peppermint, it’s very zingy and tingly on my nose.

Raspberry & Salted CaramelSweet and creamy, Raspberry & Salted Caramel is a delicious treat for the senses. Fruity notes of raspberry blend with anise, buttercream and vanilla-based caramel.

I have been dreaming about this scent since it was launched so I actually screamed when I saw that it was in the box. I mean, come on, it’s two of the greatest scents ever combined…GENIUS! It’s just so lovely and it’s better than I imagined. If you love fruity or dessert type scents then you will go crazy for this one. Highly recommend it and it’s my favourite from the box for sure.

Lemon CurdSweet and zesty, Lemon Curd is a mouthwatering lemon fragrance with top notes of fizzy lemon, sweetened by vanilla pods and sugar.

Pink LemonadeSweet and sugary Pink Lemonade is a rich combination of ripe Strawberries & Lemon juice infused with a Champagne fizz. Bursting with hints of pink grapefruit and a suggestion of smooth fruitiness.

I’ve recently and ever so randomly developed a sensitivity to lemon and get headaches from it so I’m nervous about Lemon Curd and Pink Lemonade, but I think because Lemon Curd has a lot of vanilla in it and because Pink Lemonade is a good combination of fruits (you can really smell the strawberry and grapefruit in it) that I may be ok.

Cucumber & MelonFresh and invigorating, Cucumber and Melon is a green floral fragrance with cucumber skin and watery notes of refreshing melon on the top. Supported by a rich floral accord of rose, lily and cyclamen enhanced by fruity, peach musk accents.

If there’s anything I hate as more than cucumber, it’s melon! BUT, actually this is a really fresh scent, very spa like. I think the florals, peach and musk mellow out the cucumber and melon fragrances in it.

Green Tomato Leaf – This is another Melt Crowd exclusive and after my Tomato Garden candle from Petunia’s Corner, I’m really excited about this scent. It definitely smells like all the greenery in a tomato garden, a lovely summer scent.

I’m quite happy with my first ever Melt Crowd box, especially since I got the two things I wanted most. I don’t think I’ll get  another box for a while because like all my wax products are currently taking over the  apartment but you get a 20% discount  code to use in the box so I think I’ll buy a few bits for myself, I really want to try a Raspberry & Salted Caramel candle now.
