I have a sort of love/hate relationship with Yankee Candle; the candle junkie in me loves certain scents and gets overly excited when they release new scents, but the candle expert in me knows that there are so many better candles out there, ones that are more natural, ones that are better value and ones that are so much more well made.
Having said that, I still have my favourite Yankee Candle scents, but I try to only buy them in tarts, votives or small jars. Has anyone noticed that small jars have a greater scent throw than medium or large jars, or is just me?
Yankee Candle, if you’re reading this can you tell me why that is?
So here are my favourite Yankee Candle scents, if you haven’t tried any of them yet I’d recommend trying them in wax tart or votive form, just in case you don’t like them.
Soft Blanket – Wrapped in sweet dreams … a lullaby of clean citrus, luxurious vanilla and warm amber.
I think if Yankee Candle ever discontinued Soft Blanket, it would officially end our relationship, I would just be done with them, forever. Sarah and myself have loved this scent for as long as I can remember, I think it’s both our go to scent when we’re stressed or have just had a crappy day.
I have a stash of tarts in this scent just in case I ever need them.
Garden Sweet Pea – The sweet perfume of delicate blooms accented with hints of pear, peach, freesia and rosewood.
I really like this scent, some may say it’s quite a summer scent but I would have it going all year round. It’s a lovely combination of floral and fruits.
Sugared Apple – A deliciously sweet apple treat… a perfect recipe of juicy apples sprinkled with sugar and vanilla.
This a Christmas scent from Yankee Candle, it was released a good few years ago and I’ve loved it ever since and I stock up on tarts and votives every holiday season when it comes out. I do hope they bring it out again this year.
Ginger Dusk – The brisk feeling of twilight air comes to life with the energy of sharp, bracing spice and a hint of sweet citrus.
I absolutely LOVE anything ginger scented so I was excited when I first heard that Yankee Candle were releasing Ginger Dusk. When I first smelled it on a cold smell I was a bit unsure and kind of disappointed, but when melting wax melts or burning candles the citrus scent really comes through and I just love the combination. It’s tart, spicy and just delicious.
Red Raspberry – Tangy sweet and full of nature’s goodness … there is nothing quite as delicious as ripe, rosy red raspberries.
I’m a huge fan of the scent of raspberry, actually I love everything raspberry so I was over the moon when I saw that Yankee Candle were releasing Red Raspberry and the scent did not let me down. It’s so fresh and fruity and a very true-to-life raspberry fragrance.
I have a few honourable mentions as well…. Cranberry Pear, Vanilla Lime, Fireside Treats and Oud Oasis.
