Paddywax Urban Collection Fig & Olive Candle Review

Our friends at The Fragrance Lounge kindly sent me a couple of candles from the Paddywax Urban Collection, which you can read about HERE. The first one I’ll be reviewing is a Fig & Olive 3.5oz/99g candle. It’s taken me so long to do this first review because I’ve been really savouring this candle.

Paddywax Library Mark Twain Boxed Candle Review

Regular instagram followers will know that I do enjoy a good quote and any chance to get a good quote AND a candle is always going to be a winner for me. When The Fragrance Lounge asked me to review a Paddywax candle, there were so many choices but as soon as I saw this one. I knew I had to have it!

Also I absolutely loved the scent choice and as everyone knows by now, I’m such a vanilla fan and last year also made me branch out more into more mandle type scents; oak, tobacco, amber etc. Tobacco Flower is a scent I’ve sampled quite a lot recently, maybe it was the vanilla that made me like this one more but it really is the best one. This could be because this is actually the only soy wax version actually, that really could be why.

It isn’t an overly floral scent, so obviously I love this.  If you are more into your fruity or food scents, then this one is definitely not for you. I would definitely recommend this for the man in your life… also I’m sure a lot of you will enjoy it too. The Vanilla does sweeten it out and it could still make you think of a relaxing spa I’m sure.

Literati & Light Lost Time Candle Review

Literati & Light kindly sent me one of their Lost Time candles to review, I specifically requested this scent which is described as a blend of orange blossom, neroli, lime-flower tea, cut grass, chestnut trees, and water lilies, because I’m a huge fan of citrus scents and I really LOVE any tea type aromas.

Lost Time brings back to life the nostalgic aroma of a treasured childhood garden, the scent was inspired by Marcel Proust’s “Á La Recherche Du Temps Perdu” (In Search of Lost Time). 

This is a really luxurious and complex aroma. On a cold smell, you can really get the tartness and zest from the orange blossom, neroli and lime-flower tea elements. When it’s melting the earthiness comes through from the grass and floral elements. It reminds me of sitting outside in the Spring, sipping on a really comforting cup of citrusy, herbal tea.
This is one of the fanciest candles I’ve ever had and one of the strongest, the uplifting aroma filled our entire living area with its scent and I could even smell it when it wasn’t burning. For me, that’s a sign of a very special, and extremely well-made candle. Read More
