Sam’s February Favourites

So it felt like January would never end and then February lasted like two days! WTF is going on?! Anyway I thought I’d bring you my super late February favourites, cause there’s some super good products in there, in fact I’ve already repurchased a couple of them.

Elizabeth Arden Fragrance Free Eight Hour Cream – I’d always heard great things about the Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream, and I had a small sample tube of it some time last year but when I tried it as a lip balm, I was so grossed out, it smelled and tasted disgusting, it was like stale floral perfume. Oddly enough though I was impressed at how soft my lips were even after I’d rubbed it off.
I was in the airport recently going a bit nuts in the duty free and I spotted the fragrance free version, I was like “oooooh!” First I smelled it to make sure it was fragrance free and then I thought, “one more lip balm couldn’t hurt” so I bought it. What was really weird was when I was at the check out the lady looked at me like I was crazy and said “you know this is the fragrance free kind?!” I told her I didn’t like the scented kind and again looked at me like I was bananas. Have a I offended the eight hour cream club or something?
Anyway, it’s good stuff, I’m nearly half way through my tube, I wouldn’t say it lasts eight hours on your lips, maybe if you didn’t do any eating, drinking or kissing for eight hours, but it does last longer than a lot of lip balms.

Weezer – The Teal Album – Myself and my hubby have been listening to this album almost every day since it was released, we’re long time Weezer fans and this was an epic surprise.
It’s a album of covers, and seriously the majority of them are actually better than the originals, if they’re not better then they’re just as good.
Hop on Spotify, YouTube or whatever and give it a listen, you’ll be hooked after the first song.

The Busy Botanist Sweet Dreams Tea – This is a handmade herbal tea, made here in Ireland. While a lot of teas contain green or black tea, fillers, added sugars, flavourings, colourings and preservatives, the Busy Botanist’s don’t. Their tailored blends of herbs support specific every day health and well being needs. They carefully select and hand blend their mixes, using only high quality and high performance organic herbs with nothing else added to bring a great taste sensation that is gentle yet effective.
I think I’ve mentioned before how I find it hard to switch off at night, ya girl is all work, work, work! So when I saw this tea in a local shop, I snapped it up.
Sweet Dreams is a blend of All Spice, Chamomile, Passionflower, Hops, Lemon Balm Leaf and Valerian Root, made to soothe and relax your restless mind and send you off to the land of nod, and let me tell you, it did that, really quickly! I feel so relaxed and so zen after just a few sips, and ready for bed when I finish my mug. I look forward to trying more of these lovely teas.

Rituals The Ritual of Ayurveda Hand Balm – Even though I’ve a stash of easily ten million hand creams (they multiply by themselves, I swear) I couldn’t not buy this after trying it out.  It smells divine, like rose and almonds, and it absorbs so quickly and leaves my hand feeling like silk. Imagine the most intense and luxurious hand cream you’ve every tried, these are better, trust me.
I’ve my bottle on my night stand and use it every night before I fall asleep, I’ve really noticed a difference after just a few weeks.

Diego Dalla Palma Black Eye Pencil – You name an eyeliner, I’ve tried it, I’ve tried them all! The one I’ve always gone back to the Primark one, you get two in a pack with a sharpener for €1.50, it’s always done the job for me and I love the price.
I got my Diego Dalla Palma eyeliner in the Marks & Spencer’s Advent Calendar and used it when I was out of my Primark stuff and wowza, sorry Primark eyeliner, but…YA DONE!
It’s soft and creamy, glides on so quickly and easily and lasts ALL DAY, without smudging. It also doesn’t irritate my eyes which is great.
It costs about €15 which a big difference to my Primark one, but I think it’s well worth it.

The Haunting Of Hill House – I finally got around to watching this. Have you seen the crazy good reviews online?! It’s not very often nowadays that something gets such high praise. It’s well deserved.
I love a good scare and this had me jumping all over the place, but man oh man the story is so good and the characters too. I don’t know what to say without giving too much away, but seriously watch it. I think it has one of the greatest endings in TV history, not even exaggerating at little bit.

So what have you been loving lately? What should I binge watch now? Let us know in a comment below.
