Myself and Sarah were sent some wax tarts to test out and review…

Riviera Escape – This scent is described as “a seaside scent of glittering promenades, full with hillsides of beautiful blossoms glowing in the sun.”

Sarah: I really did like this one, thought it was very fresh but I feel like Yankee have a few that smell a little like this now. Don’t get me wrong I do really like it but it feels so close to other scents of theirs.

Sam: This makes me want to go on holiday, like right now! It reminds me of the beach, the warm sand and the cool water.
I’m a fan of oceanic type fragrances, I find them quite calming, if you are too you’ll like this scent. It’s very cool and refreshing.

Summer Peach – This scent is described as “ripe peaches straight from the orchard, warmed by the sun and begging for that first juicy bite.”

Sarah: I was excited about this one because we both love our fruity scents and peach is one that is quite rare – or so we’ve found over the years. This isn’t as peachy as I’d like for sure, it’s quite synthetic and I have no idea where the summer element comes into it.

Sam: This is the scent I was most looking forward to in this collection but it was also the scent I was most disappointed by.  I love peach scents but found this could’ve been way more peachier… I would say that it’s more of a citrus type scent with subtle peach elements in it.  It’s nice, don’t get me wrong, but just not as peachy as I hoped.

Sea Salt & Sage – This scent is described as “arm and inviting sage mingles with the clean, fresh scent of sea salt… like a relaxing walk along the shore.”

Sarah: Give me sea salt in my chocolate and I’m deliriously happy, give me sea salt in a scent and I’m happy too – ha ha! There’s something so fresh about this and if I was gonna recommend a scent to anyone at the moment it would be this one. Buy them all! (Just not the ones I’m buying, ok!)

Sam: This scent wouldn’t be one I’d normally go for, heck I probably wouldn’t even smell it in a store but actually Sea Salt & Sage was my favourite out of the new Yankee Candle Riviera Escape collection. It’s s sorta manly, citrussy, bright and I just love the saltiness of it, it’s strangely addictive.

Olive & Thyme – This scent is described as “a fresh, herbal scent from the Mediterranean coast with olive leaf, citrus and musk.”

Sarah: This is a scent I’d definitely not have picked for myself. On a cold smell I didn’t like it, too herby for me. But once in my burner it was more outside forest smelling than herbs. It’s a lovely clean smell and one that surprised me the most from this collection.

Sam: I was really surprised by this scent, I wrongly assumed that it would be very olivey but actually it’s more of an earthy, herbal, citrus type fragrance, a really soothing aroma.
