Before I share my thoughts on the gorgeous candle that is Blush by Lily-Flame, I just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself, I’m Georgie, a full time wine & food PR and candle-aholic. I am very excited to be joining Sam and Sarah as a guest writer for their wonderful site. If you like what you are about to read then please check out my own blog The Goodhind Life for all things food, life and fashion related. Now on to the important stuff…
Last Christmas one of my best friends introduced me to Lily-Flame candle, for which I will be forever thankful. I know Sam has previously written about the Daisy Dip candle, however my absolute favourite is Blush ‘First Kiss of the Night’. Admittedly I am not a huge fan of the name as I think it is slightly flimsy, however all is forgiven every time I take a whiff.
When I first opened the candle and saw the baby pink colouring, I feared that the smell was going to be very sweet and overpowering, however I could not have been more surprised. Even before the candle starts burning the aromas indulge your senses with rich floral tones, followed by an underlying musky note which is almost vanilla like. Yes, there are candy floss similarities and the smell is quite sweet, however once the gorgeous scent fills the room, it is incredibly calming and warm.
The candle burns for around 35 hours and right down to the last drop. I could not believe how long it continued to burn even when there was only melted oil left in the bottom. The candle will fill your home with a relaxing and moreish smell after about an hour of burning and the scent will continue to remain for at least 24 hours.
This candle is perfect is your are looking for a calming scent to help you sleep or to accompany a relaxing bath. It is also perfect if you have friends coming over and you want to fill your place with a smell that commands compliments, who doesn’t like compliments?!
