I was over the moon when our friends at Love Aroma sent me a Yankee Candle Love Your Candle Care Set. The set contains some handy tools that will help you love your candle for longer, an Illuma-lid, Wick Trimmer and a Candle Snuffer. Now I know a lot of you are probably thinking why would you need all these? For a while I thought the same but now that I have them, I know I’ll always use them.
Illuma-lids are basically jar toppers that are specifically designed to reduce the effects of drafts. You simply place one on your jar candle and it will help your candle flame burn steadier while allowing superb distribution of the scent.
Here’s mine in use and you’ll see how well it helped my candle burn. I know there is a lot more to a candle burning perfectly, but if something so simple helps why not give it a shot?
Keeping your candles wicks trimmed properly will help your candles burn fully and last longer. A wick trimmer clips wicks to ensure a clean, even flame for a longer lasting candle and it will help stop it smoking. The thing I love most about the wick trimmer and it’s the big thing for me that makes it better than a scissors, it has sort of like a scoop at the bottom that catches the wick ends and stops them falling into the wax. Burnt wicks falling into the wax can discolour it and make it look not so nice. Plus these particular wick trimmers are long enough to reach the bottom of larger jar candles and they cut your wicks to the ideal burning length, totally fool-proof.
The candle snuffer is cool, it makes me feel ever so fancy, like I’m too good to blow out a candle ha ha ha. This candle snuffer covers the flame to cut off the air flow and extinguish it without any splattering wax and excess smoke.
This set is essential for all candle lovers, once you have one you’ll wonder how you ever managed without these tools.
